Shop with a Purpose
How to shop small & support Black, Indigenous, and People of Color-owned businesses this holiday season
After the absolute rollercoaster that was the last year and a half, turning to well-loved holidays and traditions can help keep us sane as we come up on 2 years of COVID-19 and a country and world with incredible racial, political and economic tension. For those of us who are lucky enough, that means giving gifts to loved ones near and far as a way to affirm our connection and care for each other. Here at Dr. Logan Speaks, we would love to encourage you to live out your commitment to racial justice that has become so front-and-center for many in 2020 and 2021 by supporting Black, Indigenous, and people-of-color-owned businesses this holiday season. Here are some local Evanston/Chicago businesses to visit for all your holiday shopping needs, and some other ideas for making your holidays special. As we enter another surge, remember to stay safe by getting take out, shopping for curbside pickup, buying gift cards for use post-COVID, and always wearing a mask over your nose and mouth.
